AU60 is out now!

October 12, 2009

Hi all, the latest issue of the mag is out in newsagents and record shops now, and that’s the rather lovely cover up there. I interviewed Andrew Hung from Fuck Buttons for a two-page feature in this issue, plus I had the lead album review (Girls, magnificently illustrated by Mark Reihill in his first commission for the mag), an In The Studio Piece with Strait Laces, Breaking Act pieces on the excellent Washed Out and Mount Kimbie, reviews of albums by Why? and Lightning Bolt and live reviews of Electric Picnic (bit of a whirlwhind weekend-in-400-words job) and The Bug.

Click here for details of what else is in the mag. Neill Dougan’s interview with Bradford Cox (Atlas Sound/Deerhunter) is especially entertaining! There’s also a great career retrospective of Yo La Tengo in History Lessons (Ira Kaplan interviewed by Tom McShane) and a Respect Your Shelf where Steven Rainey picks out the best of Nick Cave‘s back catalogue, musical and otherwise. As ever, the mag is £3.50 in NI (+GB where sold) and probably €4-5 in the Republic.

As the new issue is now out, I’ll be posting up my work from issue 59 over the next couple of days.
